My teaching is mainly in Language Sciences and Cognitive Sciences, at undergraduate and graduate levels. My courses combine theoretical perspectives on meaning, discourse and interaction with corpus-based and computational approaches.

Supervision

I supervise Master’s and PhD projects in linguistics and cognitive sciences employing corpus and computational approaches, and with a focuss on spontaneous speech and interaction.

Advice for prospective students

If you are considering Master’s or PhD supervision with me, please take the following points into account:

• You should have a genuine interest in computational and/or quantitative approaches to language. A good way to assess this is to browse my recent publications (see the research page).
• On the practical side, I work with git, Python, and LaTeX. I do not use Microsoft tools for writing papers or slides. I will not teach how to use these tools from scratch: students are expected to learn them autonomously.
