Teaching overview
My teaching mainly takes place in Language Sciences (SCL) and Cognitive Sciences (SCO), at undergraduate and graduate levels. Courses combine theoretical perspectives on meaning, discourse and interaction with corpus-based and computational approaches.
Recent and recurring courses (selection)
- Dialogue systems and interaction dynamics M2 Cognitive Sciences
- Corpus linguistics and annotation L3-M1 Language Sciences
- Discourse, pragmatics L2–L3 Language Sciences
- Meaning, language, and interaction L1–L3 Language Sciences / Sciences & Humanities
- Data and methods in cognitive sciences M1 Cognitive Sciences
Supervision
I supervise Master’s and PhD projects at the interface of linguistics, conversation analysis, corpus studies, and computational approaches to language, with a strong interest in spontaneous speech and interaction.
Advice for prospective students
If you are considering Master’s or PhD supervision with me, please take the following points into account:
- You should have a genuine interest in computational and/or quantitative approaches to language. A good way to assess this is to browse my recent publications (see the research page).
- On the practical side, I work with git, Python, and LaTeX. I do not use Microsoft tools for writing papers or slides. I will not teach how to use these tools from scratch: students are expected to learn them autonomously.
